CONNECTICUT Donaldson Makoski in Avon has been tapped to design and produce annual reports for Pitney Bowes Financial Services in Shelton, Emcor Group in Norwalk, TransPro in New Haven and DRS Technologies in Parsipanny, N.J. Barnett Marketing in Avon has been retained for marketing projects by Reflextite North America in New Britain. Days Inns of America in Parsipanny, N.J., has decided to advertise its New England properties on an Internet-based travel and tourism Web site (www.visitnewengland.com) co-maintained by Mystic Media in Mystic. Days Inns is the first national advertiser to use the site since its inception three years ago. MAINE DW Communications Group, a marketing communications company based in Blue Hill, has opened an office in Portland. Account manager Kate Canon is currently heading up the outpost, which plans to offer interactive and public relations services to clients. MASSACHUSETTS DRK in Boston has been selected to provide advertising services to MathWorks, a Natick-based maker of technical computing software. Barrett Communications in Cambridge has been tapped by United Lithograph in Somerville to create the company's first Web site. The launch is set for February. Schneider & Associates, a public relations agency based in Boston, has been retained by Advest, a financial services firm with 85 offices in 16 states across the country. The shop's Boston and New York offices will jointly handle the account. Meddaugh Advertising in Hanover has been hired by Tech-Etch, a circuit and electronic component manufacturer in Plymouth, to create its latest Web site. Ciavarra Design in Boston has been hired by Salem, N.H.-based retail chain Computer Town to develop a corporate identity program that includes sales kits, business cards and other materials. Graphic designers Susan Georges, David Horton and Susan Stearns have formed Philographica in Cambridge. Georges is president and Horton is vice president and treasurer of the startup. The principals have experience with clients in a variety of industry segments, including medical, financial, and high-technology firms as well as nonprofit organizations such as colleges and universities. Harpell/Martins & Co. in Maynard has been tapped to develop and implement a public relations and marketing program for Immersive Design, an Acton-based maker of animation software. BBL, an advertising and marketing agency specializing in high-technology clients, has moved into 12,000-square-foot office space at 20 Main St. in Acton and has opened an outpost in San Jose, Calif. Polese Clancy, a design firm in Boston, has been chosen to produce annual reports for Eastern Enterprises in Weston, Interneuron Pharmaceuticals in Lexington and Liberty Mutual in Boston. NEW HAMPSHIRE Filias Advertising in Portsmouth has been selected by Spencer Press in Wells, Maine, to develop an identity campaign positioning the specialty printer with major direct mail marketers. RHODE ISLAND Donnelly & Duncan in East Providence has been tapped to develop an integrated marketing communications program for Wakefield Engineering in Wakefield, Mass. The agency's work for the client will include advertising, public relations, collateral materials and direct mail pieces. Duffy & Shanley in Providence has developed a pro bono campaign called "Street Smart" to benefit Amos House, an independent, nondenominational homeless facility in Providence. VERMONT Paul Kaza Associates in South Burlington has been named public relations agency for Stowe Mountain Resort. The shop had worked with Stowe in the late 1980s, handling the ski resort's advertising account.
