Expectations for advertising- and marketing-services M&As remain at last year's record-high levels, driven largely by growing client demand for full-service agencies, according to the sixth annual survey by AdMedia Partners, a New York investment-banking firm. The survey,
conducted among more than 500 senior executives at leading advertising- and marketing-services companies, found that nearly three out of four companies entered new sectors last year, while 86 percent are considering expanding in at least one of the core advertising- and marketing-services sectors this year. Interest in IPOs is soaring as well, with one in 10 respondents reporting that his or her company will consider going public in 2000. The survey also found that complementing existing business and enhancing revenue/critical mass are still the factors deemed by the greatest number of respondents as very important when considering transactions.
Katz Streaming Media Sales Network, New York, has set up an exclusive advertising agreement with Cleveland-based everstream, a provider of personalized and localized interactive digital streaming media. Under the agreement, Katz Streaming Media Sales Network will bring national advertisers to everstream's network of 250 affiliates accessed by 17 million monthly visitors.

Gr‡fica inter.active, Chester-based Gr‡fica's sister agency, has opened its new facility, also in Chester. Located on the same street as Gr‡fica, Gi's new 2,700-square-foot facility at Chester Commons, Route 24, triples its previous office space. The new space houses state-of-the-art Internet equipment, networking infrastructure, and a usability lab to handle e-marketing initiatives, advanced Web-site and intranet design, CRM platforms, CD-ROM production, database development, and e-commerce applications. The shop's new Web site, www.grafica.com, has also launched and features animation and graphics with Shockwave/Flash technology and SoundEdit16.
Advertising agency The Weightman Group, Philadelphia, and online-marketing company The Technology Marketing Group, Conshohocken, have been hired by AssetTrade, King of Prussia. The agencies will work with AssetTrade to brand its definitive global marketplace for used industrial equipment. AssetTrade is a joint venture between Henry Butcher International, an industrial-equipment disposition and asset-management firm, and Michael Fox International, an industrial auction company.
Brand-identity agency The Brownstein Group, Philadelphia, has recently won the national relaunch advertising account for Reebok International's Blacktop brand basketball sneaker. The assignment is a joint effort between Stoughton, Mass.-based Reebok and Foot Locker, a retailer of athletic footwear and apparel. The two companies selected the Philadelphia agency after a review of creative presentations from several New York advertising agencies. The assignment is estimated to be worth more than $6 million. TBG is producing two TV spots, two print ads, radio and out-of-home advertising for the clients. The first set of ads are for the Blacktop 55th Mid. The campaign features street-ball humor and stars Houston Rockets guard Steve Francis, this season's NBA Rookie of the Year. The effort launched during the week of May 22; TV is appearing on NBC, Fox and UPN network affiliates, as well as cable networks that include ESPN, TNT and MTV. Print is running in magazines that include ESPN Magazine, Vibe and Blaze.
