- ILLINOIS Walt Denny of Hinsdale will handle public relations duties for Amerock Corp., a manufacturer of kitchen and bathroom cabinet hardware and accessories. Chase/Ehrenberg & Rosene, Chicago, was named advertising agency for The Chenille Kraft Company. The Gurnee company produces craft kits for children. Borden Foods named Golin/Harris International in Chicago to provide public relations support for its national launch of It's Pasta Anytime. IDEACUBE E-Media, Oakbrook Terrace, launched a Web site for the 1394 Trade Association. Pepe's Restaurants chose DiMeo & Company as its agency of record. The chain has 54 Chicagoland locations. The Chicago agency also won a Mobius Award for direct mail and a silver medallion in the same category in the New York Festivals competition for its Chicago Bulls work. Florsheim Group named LaRowe Advertising, Chicago, its agency of record. - INDIANA Pratt Corp. appointed Communico as its agency of record. Both are based in Indianapolis. Juhl Marketing Communications, Mishawaka, has added Iogistics management software provider Intrepa and dentist products manufacturer Heraeus Kulzer to its client roster. - MICHIGAN RolandBerger, a Munich, Germany, management consultant, selected The Berline Group in Bloomfield Hills to develop an advertising campaign aimed at the U.S. automotive industry. Additionally, the agency added manufacturing company International Extrusions and managed care software company INFOTRUST to its client roster. Kappel Advertising changed its name to MultiMedia Technologies The agency also moved to a larger facility at 1738 Maplelawn Dr., Suite 100, in Troy. Frank's Nursery and Crafts awarded its broadcast media buying assignment to Media...Period in Bloomfield Hills. Maxwell & Miller Marketing Communications in Kalamazoo will develop advertising and marketing materials for Spring Engineering & Manufacturing Corp., Livonia. The Michigan Dental Association named Simons Michelson Zieve Advertising its agency of record. The Troy shop will also handle advertising and public relations for Louisiana-Pacific Corp.'s ABTco products. Jim Hanon won a Silver Medal Award at the Ad Club in Grand Rapids. Hanon is co-founder of Hanon-McKendry and president of Compass Arts, a nonprofit film foundation. - MINNESOTA Gabriel Diericks Razidlo in Minneapolis was named agency of record for Javelin Solutions after a review. Miller Meester Advertising, Minneapolis, has added legal insurance company ARAG, hog genetics company Genetiporc, and cat litter marketer Pet Care Systems to its roster. Geoffrey Carlson Gage in Minneapolis was named agency of record for monster truck marketer Milestone Motorsports. The agency will also develop and launch a Web site for sports and memorabilia retailer Stars of Aspen. Bolin Marketing & Advertising in Minneapolis created a character called "Captain Ridemore" for this summer's Mighty Funfest in Duluth. An agency representative described Ridemore as "an entertaining, not intimidating kind of super hero who reminds us of healthy, good old-fashoined fun." Hedstrom/Blessing in Minneapolis was named agency of record for Fabcon, Intellisol International and SyntheSys Partners. Fabcon, in Savage, provides precast concrete products and services. Intellisol, in Fargo, N.D., develops financial management software. SyntheSys, in St. Paul, is a workplace planning and process management firm. - MISSOURI Osborn & Barr Communcations in Clayton will handle advertising for Monsanto Co.'s Dekalb and Hartz seed brands. Osborn & Barr also was chosen to market Aqua Leader products in the U.S. Aqua Leader manufacturers above-ground swimming pool products and accessories. Kansas City restaurateurs the Eddy Family selected Adamson as agency of record for their newest restaurant, The Big Easy Cafe. The St. Louis shop was also recently named agency of record for Green Mountain Cidery and Ironstone Vineyards. The St. Louis Brewery, the brewer of Schlafly beer, named Brighton Agency in St. Louis its agency of record. - OHIO Empower MediaMarketing in Cincinnati will handle media planning and buying duties for Christenbury Eye Center of Charlotte, N.C. Billings were not disclosed for the assignment, which includes local radio and television. HSR Business to Business in Cincinnati acquired PRCommunicators, Cincinnati. Terms were not disclosed. Cashland tapped Willis Case Harwood in Dayton to handle its marketing communications. Cashland offers cash advances, check cashing and money order services in western and central Ohio. Gerbig, Snell/Weisheimer & Associates in Columbus was named agency of record for the Anesta Corp.'s "Actiq," a treatment for cancer pain. Bridge Integrated Communications in Cincinnati developed and designed a Web site for Procter & Gamble's tryFit.com, which is devoted to the Cincinnati company's new Fit Fruit & Vegetable Wash. Fit is said to remove dirt, wax and 98 percent more pesticides than water alone. Haselow Marketing Communications in Cleveland has launched a redesigned Web site at www.haselow.com. Badertscher Communications in Marion earned an Award of Excellence in the Business Marketing Association's Pro-Comm competition. The agency earned the recognition for its direct mail for TODCO PolarGuard. - WISCONSIN Textron Turf Care and Speciality Products tapped Nelson & Schmidt Marketing Communications in Milwaukee as its agency of record. The shop will create brand building and marketing communications programs for several Textron brands, including Jacobsen, Ransomes, Ryan and Cushman. West Allis Savings Bank contracted Deep River Partners of Milwaukee to develop a comprehensive strategic marketing program, which will include a new name and logo. Milwaukee image management firm H2D has been contracted by Cornerstone Consulting and Plaza East Office Center, both of Milwaukee, to create greater brand awareness in the marketplace.
