Stephens & Associates Advertising in Kansas City was named agency of record for Golden Harvest Seeds of Bloomington, Ill. The shop replaces Unell & Ballou, which has closed. - MICHIGAN Smith-Winchester in Southfield was named agency of record for Yazaki North America, which manufactures vehicle power and data networks, components and instrumentation. MTI Advertising Sales Group in Southfield was chosen by The Pep Boys as sales agency for ads placed on the company's upcoming in-store audio network. - MINNESOTA Peterson Milla Hooks in Minneapolis, along with client Target Stores, won Best of Show at the International Retail Advertising Conference Awards. The award cited the retailer's "Sign of the Times" campaign, which included national TV spots, outdoor and print. Geoffrey Carlson Gage in Minneapolis is creating a Web site for new client Jaspair, which leases corporate aircraft. Bolin Marketing and Advertising in Minneapolis has won creative and media duties for Famous Dave's of America, which is headquartered in Eden Prairie. Famous Dave's operates 30 barbecue restaurants in five Midwestern states, Maryland and Virginia. Bolin will create regional print and outdoor as well as in-store materials for the chain. The Sandcastle Group in Minneapolis has developed a campaign to introduce the Cetera Cerebral Auditory Assistant, a hearing aid from Starkey Laboratories, in the U.S. and 12 other countries. Foley Sackett in Minneapolis was chosen as agency of record by cMore Medical Solutions, a Minneapolis-based developer of medical software. Tanaka Advertising in Minneapolis was named agency of record for the Timber Lodge Steakhouse restaurant chain. - MISSOURI Osborn & Barr Communications, which has offices in Clayton and Kansas City, was chosen to handle marketing for Firearmour, Garden City, which is launching a gunlock security system. The Hughes Group in St. Louis has completed trade ads for Integrated Protein Technologies, a unit of Monsanto. The print work will run in pharmaceutical trade magazines under the theme, "Discover the phenomenon." Hughes also picked up media relations duties from the American Optometric Association, which represents more than 33,000 optometrists, students, assistants and technicians. - WISCONSIN Laughlin/Constable Interactive in Milwaukee has been awarded projects by Modine Manufacturing, Midwest Express Airlines and Firestone. Modine, a Racine-based maker of heat transfer projects, had L/C Interactive design and program its Web site. Midwest Express chose the company to design its Intranet. Firestone had L/C build a Web site to mark the company's centennial. WDJT-Channel 58, Milwaukee's CBS affiliate, named L/C's media division, Griffin Media Services, to handle buying. Becker LePoidevein in Delafield has completed a training video for the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation. The 30-minute video is entitled, "Anatomy of the Ear," and will be used in continuing education courses for hearing conservationists.
