Sea Lion Productions, New York, created a TV spot for the new United Fishing Association that features a handful of sport-fishing stars, including Edward "Spider" Andresen and Bernard "Lefty" Kreh. The 30-second spot, which broke Nov. 21 on ESPN, begins with a shot of a dozen fishermen on a rocky coast and ends with the camera pulling away from a huge lake. In between are clips of the sport fishermen superimposed on an ocean backdrop. The ad, which carries no tagline, features copy explaining the purpose of the new association, which seeks to attract both fresh- and salt-water anglers: "It's about fishing, it's about protecting our resources and it's about time."
Mindy Rosengarten, senior group creative director at Avrett, Free & Ginsberg, received the Advertising Council's 10th annual G.D. Crain Jr. Award for outstanding volunteerism in advertising at the group's 45th annual Public Service Award Dinner on Nov. 18. The award recognized Rosengarten's work on the Ad Council's anti-discrimination campaign for the Leadership Conference Education Fund and the President's Initiative on Race while at Griffin Bacal. Also honored was John Pepper, CEO of Procter & Gamble, who received the Distinguished Public Service Award for his advocacy of education and community service issues.
Entertainment brand agency Lee Hunt Associates has designed NBC's campaign for this season. The nine-spot series uses the theme "Runaway Colors" and features the six hues of the NBC peacock turning into liquids, smoke or human figures.

At the Jersey Shore Public Relations and Advertising Association's 24th annual Jasper Awards, Lambertville-based Oxford Communications earned four gold and two silver trophies. The agency was recognized for work for Sesame Place and Jeremy's MicroBatch Ice Cream. It was also honored for excellence in writing, feature story for a question-and-answer article on online public relations which appeared in Builder magazine. Creative Marketing Alliance, Princeton Junction, won five Jaspers in the radio and television advertising, print material, newspaper insert, sales or product kit and single-piece direct mail categories.
