CONNECTICUT

The Connecticut Tour-ism Council hired Stanton-Crenshaw Communications, Stamford, to spearhead public relations for that state of Connecticut's Office of Tourism. The agency is part of a marketing, advertising, and public relations team that also includes McLaughlin, DelVecchio & Casey, New Haven, and the O'Neal Group, Durham. The $6 million contract for tourism services runs through July 31, 2002.

Riley and Co., Middletown, completed a media kit redesign for publishing giant International Data Group, San Francisco. The packet, which incorporates all of IDG's publishing units throughout the world, represents the company's family of 290 publications, 300 Web sites, 168 events, and research capabilities. The design uses IDG's "Answers for the Information Age" tagline. The marketing company also recently completed two direct mail campaigns for IDG as part of its "Vacation Around the World Sweepstakes." The campaigns targeted media-buying professionals and promoted IDG's publications and Web sites through a contest and vacation giveaway program. Additionally, Riley completed the third edition of a 600-page product catalog for Colony, a New Haven supplier of tools and safety products to contractors.

Cronin & Co., Glastonbury, launched a new version of its Web site. Designed by the company's new digital director, Todd Gray, the site offers interactivity, sound and movement. It showcases the company and its latest work from television commercials to public relations and direct marketing campaigns.

MAINEInfotech Solutions, a provider of billing software for the wireless telecommunications industry, hired DW Group, Portland, as its agency. Work will include public relations, traditional and online advertising, trade show participation, direct mail and other initiatives.

MASSACHUSETTS

Target Marketing & Promotions, Boston, launched a sister company called On Premise Solutions, which offers in-bar, on-site promotions to packaged goods companies. The company has already been retained by Guinness Bass Import Company to create, manage and execute its Boston-area in-bar promotional activities. On Premise Solutions will be run by TMP's founder and chief executive officer, Tom Schneider.

Slingshot Boston created radio ads for Kettle Cuisine, Chelsea. Spots for the soup maker target wealthy women who want healthy food but lack time to prepare it.

Cone, Boston, added several clients to its cause-branding roster worth more than $1.3 million in aggregate annual revenue fees, including Sports Illustrated, New York; banking company Washington Mutual, Seattle; Pearson, an international media company based in London whose operations include The Financial Times Group, Pearson Education and Penguin Putnam; Aid Association for Lutherans, a fraternal benefits society in Appleton, Wisc.; and Independent Order of Foresters, a fraternal benefits society based in Toronto.

C-bridge, a Cambridge provider of Internet enterprise consulting and services, selected Greenough Communications Group, Boston, for corporate and marketing public relations services and consulting. The budget is estimated at $500,000 annually.

InfoGraphix, a company that provides marketing, printing and promotion services, relocated its corporate headquarters to 1380 Soldiers Field Road in Boston.

Brodeur Worldwide, Boston, developed an interactive research product called "InfoTouch," which provides clients with instant industry intelligence at trade shows, conferences or other venues. The service is a CD-ROM-driven kiosk with a touch screen system that guides participants through a short questionnaire.

Minelli, Boston, was recently hired by CitiStreet—a global benefits delivery company jointly owned by Citigroup and State Street Corp., to develop an interactive presentation tool. The agency also completed a pro bono advertising campaign for The Copley Society of Boston, an art society supporting emerging New England artists. The campaign promotes the society's annual "Small Works" art sale and announces the organization's modern image while preserving tradition. The art sale runs through Dec. 24.

Direct Results Group, Boston, started work on a new Web site for W.A. Wilde Direct Media Marketing, a Holliston provider of integrated direct marketing services. The new Web site is meant to build awareness of Wilde's service offerings and its business approach. It is scheduled to launch this month.

Ruder Finn, Boston, was retained by PaperExchange.com, the Boston-based global e-marketplace for the pulp and paper industry, to develop and manage the company's public relations activities. The account will be managed by Ruder Finn Boston managing director Nancy Moss and account director Josh Gitelson, and will be supported by staff in Ruder Finn's New York office.

Muse Technologies, Waltham, engaged marketing and advertising agency McKee/Wallwork/Henderson to assist the company in developing components of its new corporate identity following its recent merger with Advanced Visual Systems. Muse, a provider of data visualization and perceptual computing software, plans to debut its new name, logo, tagline, and branded marketing materials by mid-January.

NEW HAMPSHIRE

Badger Realty, North Conway, recently launched a new Web site, www.badgerrealty.com, designed by Glen Group, also of North Conway. The new Web site features listings of residential and commercial properties for sale and rent along with my.portfolio, a new feature that allows customers to create a personalized portfolio of real estate listings that interest them.

RHODE ISLAND

America House Communications, Newport, was selected to promote the Rhode Island Home Show for the second consecutive year. The agency will develop advertising and public relations campaigns designed to drive people to the show, which will be held at the Rhode Island Convention Center from February 28 to March 4, 2001. The client, Rhode Island Builders Association of East Providence, owns and sponsors the Home Show.

VERMONT

Internet technology firm Bluehouse Group, Williston, partnered with interactive multimedia developer Applied Imagination, Moretown, to bring enhanced media technology services to a broader range of companies.
