Brandweek Veteran Is New National Editor
NEW YORK–Karen Benezra has been named national news editor of Adweek magazine, effective immediately. She is responsible for shaping the magazine’s national news coverage and reports to editor Alison Fahey.
Benezra comes from sister publication Brandweek, where she most recently was an editor-at-large. She has been writing about advertising and marketing for 10 years.
“Karen distinguished herself at Brandweek as a superior advertising and marketing reporter,” said Fahey. “Her experience covering the business, plus the superior news judgment she has acquired over the years, made her the standout choice for this important position.”
Benezra, 36, joined Brandweek in February 1994 as a senior writer, reporting on consumer product marketers from the worlds of fast food, soft drinks, snacks, toys, licensing and entertainment.
