‘We knew that there were a lot of ups and downs in the advertising business, but this is ridiculous,’ said an amused Jane Savoca, new business coordinator for Adworks in Washington, D.C. Earlier this month, the agency received a letter from the Effie awards committee stating that the shop’s campaign, ‘Dresden: Treasures from the Saxon State Library,’ was not chosen as a finalist this year. A second letter in the same stack of mail informed Adworks that the entry had indeed received a finalist nod.
