NEW YORK GameZnFlix, an Internet destination at which subscribers can rent both DVD movies and video games, has signed Ben Curtis, better known as Steven "The Dell Dude," to appear in a national TV campaign launching this summer.
The effort, via AdSouth Partners in Boca Raton, Fla., will feature Curtis in three TV spots talking about the rental side of GameZnFlix's business, and will be targeted toward consumers ages 12-25. Curtis also will do radio and make personal appearances to support the Web site. Campaign spending was not given.
GameZnFlix, based in Franklin, Ky., this past weekend launched its first national TV spot, starring actor Dennis Cole.
Curtis drew national attention as Steven "The Dell Dude," a role he began in 2000, via Lowe in New York. He appeared as a co-star in one spot in late fall 2003 before being written out of the Dell campaign.
"GameZnFlix is excited about the signing of Ben Curtis for the summer advertising campaign," John Fleming, CEO and president of GameZnFlix, said in a statement. "AdSouth understands our company's goals, and continues to provide the talent and direction we need for the future."
