Alexander Bringing Karp’s Screenplay to Life
LOS ANGELES–A coming-of-age film written by an ad agency creative director has attracted the likes of actor/director Jason Alexander and marketers such as Coca-Cola.
Cherry Pink, the semiautobiographical story of Marshall Karp, has begun shooting, with Seinfeld star Alexander directing. Karp, president and chief executive officer of interactive company Compelling Content in New York and a former executive creative director at McCann-Erickson, wrote the original screenplay based on his own memories of growing up in New York.
Set in Queens during the summer of 1955, the movie relates the sexual and intellectual awakenings of a 14-year-old boy who falls in love with a 28-year-old bra model.
