BOSTON—Adams & Knight en-courages Connecticut residents to become “local heroes” by giving to those in need in a new campaign for the United Way of the Capital Area.

A crowded workplace cafeteria serves as the setting for a 60-second television spot. Amid the din of rushed diners, a woman stands up and sings a line from “Lean on Me.” One by one, others in the lunchroom join her, followed by a hearty round of applause.

“Think about what we can do together,” onscreen text begins.
