NEW YORK The Washington Post Company reported yesterday that fourth-quarter revenue from its online publishing activities, primarily WashingtonPost.com, grew 34 percent to $14.2 million from $10.6 million in the year-earlier period.
For full-year 2004, revenue from its online businesses rose 30 percent to $46.9 million from $35.9 million the year before.
The year-over-year increase was fueled by local and national online ad revenue, which grew 54 percent in Q4 and 59 percent for the year. Revenue from the jobs section of WashingtonPost.com increased 44 percent in the fourth quarter and 29 percent for 2003.
The results were released as a part of The Washington Post Company's Q4 and year-end earnings report.
