Ad Execs to Be Heard on I-Radio

ATLANTA Webmasterradio.FM launched a new Internet radio show Tuesday that features interviews with some of the advertising industry’s leading thinkers.

The program, The Hook, is hosted by Katie Kempner, vice president of communications at Miami’s Crispin Porter + Bogusky, and will air live at 2 p.m. each Tuesday on the Internet site www.webmasterradio.fm.

Kempner debuted the program on Dec. 13 with an interview of CP+B chairman Chuck Porter, who discussed some of the shop’s most acclaimed work, including the Subservient Chicken Web site for Burger King, the North American launch of the Mini Cooper and advertising for Virgin Atlantic airlines.

Next week, Kempner said she would interview journalist and writer Warren Berger, a regular contributor to The New York Times Magazine, Wired, GQ, Reader’s Digest and Business 2.0. He also has written a book about the ad business called Advertising Today.

Kempner said she plans to interview journalists, advertising executives, creative directors, and people in the entertainment and marketing industries. The conversations will focus on marketing, advertising, branding, public relations and pop culture, she said.

Kempner signed a six-month contract to host the show. She was offered the deal after twice appearing as a guest on the network’s Cover Story program.

“Webmasterradio.FM is thrilled to be adding The Hook to our lineup,” said Brandy Shapiro-Babin, vice president of marketing at the station. “With a tenured veteran like Katie as host, our listeners have the opportunity to hear from industry powerhouses in order to posture themselves with insight and ideas from the creative front.”

Podcasts of The Hook and other programs are available at the station’s Web site, www.webmasterradio.fm. The station specializes in business radio programming.
