NEW YORK Six agencies have advanced in the review for the creative portion of Payless ShoeSource's North American ad account, sources said.
Moving on are: Publicis Groupe's Saatchi & Saatchi and The Kaplan Thaler Group, both in New York; Omnicom Group's Goodby Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco, Martin/Williams in Minneapolis and BBDO in Chicago; and independent Cramer-Krasselt in Chicago, sources said.
Incumbent Barkley Evergreen & Partners in Kansas City, Mo., declined to defend, but will continue working with the Topeka, Kan., client until the review is completed.
New York consultancy Joanne Davis Consulting, which is handling the review, could not be reached for comment.
The winning agency will launch a fall campaign.
Media duties, currently at WPP Group's Mediaedge:cia, are not in play.
