Advertising executive James Toro is using his artistic talents to help fight breast cancer.

Toro, a principal of Toro Partners in Dallas, created six paintings and six songs to reflect the six emotional stages of breast cancer: suffering, resolve, work, hope, victory and gratitude.

Toro produced the work for his client, The Mohawk Group, a contract carpeting manufacturer in Kennesaw, Ga.

The connection is not as odd as it appears. More than a year ago Mohawk began a program in which portions of the sales proceeds from certain carpet brands go to the Susan G.
