CHICAGO Investment brokerage A.G. Edwards has enlisted five agencies to pitch for its advertising account, which sources said was worth $20 million.

Vying for the St. Louis company’s account will be: Carmichael Lynch in Minneapolis; DDB, Chicago; McKinney & Silver, Raleigh, N.C.; The Richards Group, Dallas, and TBWA\Chiat\Day, Playa del Rey, Calif., according to a company representative. A decision is expected this spring.

Shops were initially contacted through a blind RFP issued by Northwestern University associate professor Tom Collinger, who is assisting with the search.
