DALLAS Three ad executives from two Albuquerque, N.M., agencies have formed a new shop that they are calling "3."
Chris Moore, 34, former account manager at McKee Wallwork Henderson, and Sam Maclay, 34, and Tim McGrath, 37, both formerly of Rick Johnson & Co., are in the process of lining up their first clients, with the agency scheduled to open its doors Sept. 1, Maclay said.
Maclay was vice president and creative director at Rick Johnson & Co., and McGrath was design director, Maclay said. The three founders have won numerous awards among them, including 100 New Mexico Addys and an Effie, the agency said.
"We've had an amazing opportunity to learn from and contribute to the success of the agencies we were with," said Moore. "Now we're ready to show what we can do on our own for clients with our highly focused approach. We chose the name 3 to signify our approach to the key aspects of advertising: collaboration, insight and creativity."
Moore will carry the title of strategic director of 3, with Maclay as creative director and McGrath as design director.
The new agency's capabilities include strategy, account, media, creative, design and interactive services, Maclay said.
"We all love New Mexico and don't want to live anywhere else," said Maclay. "We think there is room for a firm offering our skills and experience, and we're in this for the duration."
