BOSTON Mohegan Sun has named four finalists in the review for the creative portion of its $25-30 million advertising account, the casino has confirmed.
They are: independent incumbent Cliff Freeman and Partners, Publicis Groupe-backed Bartle Bogle Hegarty and MDC Partners' Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners, all in New York, and Interpublic Group's Mullen in Wenham, Mass., a Mohegan Sun representative said.
WPP's Berlin Cameron/Red Cell in New York was invited to continue, but declined to do so due to "creative priorities," the agency said.
Shops that also competed earlier in the process included Grey, Publicis and Lowe, all in New York, sources said.
Select Resources International in Santa Monica, Calif., is guiding the review. A decision is due in April. Media chores are not in play and remain with indie shop Mintz & Hoke in Avon, Conn.
Mohegan Sun's rival Connecticut casino, Foxwoods, is also in the final stage of a review with Arnold and The Kaplan Thaler Group remaining in that competition [Adweek Online, Feb. 12].
