Publicis last week hired three art directors, the first additions to its New York creative depart ment since David Corr and Lance Paull joined as executive creative directors and co-presidents in October.
Tom Godici, 37, most recently a cd on IBM at Ogilvy & Mather in New York, was named senior principal, cd. In his new post, he will oversee art direction on accounts like L'Oréal and Siemens Corp. Godici said he liked Publicis' "entrepreneurial environment … where everyone can contribute to the culture and make a difference."
Stephanie Sigg and Andi Bird, both 28, joined as art directors. Both will work on various accounts, such as FujiFilm and BMW. Sigg comes from Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, Ore., where she was an art director on Nike for three years. Before that, she was at Rios Associates, an architectural firm in Los Angeles.
Bird was most recently an art director at TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York, working on Kmart and Circuit City. Prior to that, she was at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco, where she worked on Pac Bell and E-Trade, among others.
The hires, who all start in newly created posts, were brought in to help raise the creative profile of the agency, according to Corr. All three report to Corr and Paull.
Corr knew God ici and Bird from his days at TBWA\C\D. Before Ogil vy, Godici was a group head at the New York shop, where he teamed with Corr on Kozmo.com, and also worked on Absolut and DoubleTree.
"These are people who are not afraid of a blank page," said Corr.
