NEW YORK 24/7 Real Media has united sales for its media and technology groups under David Hills, who joined the company in August as president of media solutions.

Hills, who presently oversees 24/7's domestic media and search operations, will now assume additional sales and marketing responsibility over its technology unit in North America. Tony Schmitz, president of technology solutions worldwide, who continues to oversee the New York-based company's delivery of technology products and services for online marketers and publishers, previously held those duties.

"It has become apparent that both publishers and advertisers are most effectively served if the media and technology groups are aligned closely," said 24/7 chairman and CEO David J. Moore, to whom Hills reports.

In addition, Jim Alla has joined the company as senior vice president of technology sales from IDG, a technology media, research and event company, where he was vice president of business development. Reporting to Hills, Alla will steer domestic technology sales and account management teams. He replaces Tom Capato, who left the company in early December.

Also, 24/7 four-year veteran Ellen Kamor has been promoted from director of sales and account management to vice president of account management in technology sales. She reports to Alla, and replaces Sharon Smith, who also exited last month.
