NEW YORK As the new year approached, Web surfers logged on to diet and fitness sites to gear up for their health-related resolutions and astrology sites to see what was in store for 2003.

During the week ending Dec. 29, more than 3.5 million people logged on to various health, fitness and nutrition Web sites at home, according to the latest report from Nielsen/NetRatings. Leading the pack was AOL Health, which attracted 805,000 unique visitors during the week, and WebMD, which welcomed 521,000 visitors.
