NEW YORK Zenith Media USA has restructured its media buying operations, moving veteran national TV buyer Peggy Green up to vice chairman and elevating Ava Jordhamo to evp, director of national broadcast.
In her new role, Green will oversee the push toward a more fully integrated media strategy, pulling together traditional broadcast and cable buying with nonlinear digital platforms (online, wireless, out-of-home, etc.). Green previously served as president of broadcast and entertainment at Zenith.
The Zenith realignment was prefigured by similar initiatives at corporate siblings MediaVest and Starcom, two agencies that embraced the activation approach as digital buys increasingly became part of the fabric of linear TV deals.
In her prior role as svp, account director, national broadcast, Jordhamo handled a number of high-end clients, including Toyota, Lexus and Scion. Beyond automotive, she also oversees a range of other business (Boston Beer, Jim Beam and Puma).
The national broadcast operations under Jordhamo will be structured in line with the agency's ZenithSpheres account groups, which integrate planning and execution operations in client-facing teams. She reports to Wendy Marquardt, president of Zenith Media.
"Peggy is a doyenne of our industry, consistently cited as one of the top media buying executives in the U.S.," said ZenithOptimedia North America CEO Tim Jones in announcing the shift. "Over the years, Zenith and Saatchi and DFS before have benefited from Peggy's leadership, intellect, wit and great heart."
Jones added that Jordhamo had proven herself to be the "natural successor" to Green, with whom she will continue to work closely.
