In an effort to en-hance its integration capabilities, Deutsch within the past month has made two key media hires.
Christopher Klopp, formerly a senior partner at Bozell Group's media department here, has joined the New York-based shop as brand media director, a new position.
Liz Nash, previously vp, associate media research director at MediaVest in New York, has joined as vp, media research director, re-placing director of media information Doug Crichton, who moved to Austria. Both report to Peter Gardiner, evp, director of media services.
Gardiner said Klopp's duties re-semble those of a media director, but they encompass direct, interactive and public relations efforts. "What we're trying to do is to broaden the definition of the title, making sure the brand is thought about at every media point," he said. "[Chris] has worked on a wide array of businesses and some integrated accounts, like Verizon, while he was at Bozell. He's got a great background, and he's a terrific manager of people."
Of Nash, Gardiner said she will bring depth to understanding consumer media habits. "She's worked in every realm, and her abilities will fit well in an integrated agency like Deutsch," he said.
In other moves, Amy Liebesman was promoted from vp, account planner to group account planning director, a new post. She reports to Jeffrey Wolf, evp, director of account planning. Lisa Garrone and Carolyn Oppenheim rose from senior copywriter and copywriter, respectively, to associate creative directors, raising the number of agency acds to six. The new acds report to Kathy Delaney, partner, executive creative director.
