NEW YORK McCann Erickson here has been cut from the review for creative chores on the Smith Barney account following presentations last week, according to sources. Estimated billings on the business are $20 million.
Scheduled to make additional presentations to the client in the next two weeks are McCann's Interpublic Group sibling Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos in Boston and New York and Publicis Groupe's Fallon in Minneapolis, sources said.
Agency officials either declined comment or could not be reached. A client representative declined comment.
The new round of presentations comes as a something of a surprise, as a review winner had been expected to emerge from last week's meetings [Adweek, May 22].
The financial services firm's account had been at Omnicom Group's Merkley + Partners, which split with the client and did not participate, said sources.
New York-based Joanne Davis Consulting will help negotiate compensation issues, but is not guiding the overall review, sources said.
