Fogarty Klein & Partners was honored with 15 Addy awards to claim lead status at the Houston Advertising Federation's annual competition Saturday.
Fogarty also was awarded best of show at the annual Addy contest for an outdoor entry in the collateral material and poster category for client Shiner Bock.
Fogarty's top entries and the other Addy award winners--144 overall--now head to the regional District 10 competition.
Other agencies scoring victories at the show included Ogilvy & Mather with nine Addys, topping Black Rogers Sullivan Goodnight's seven. Lopez Negrete Communications and Dwight Douthit Design finished with six Addys apiece, followed by the four of both Rhymes & Co. and Stan & Lou Advertising. Six other shops totaled three Addys apiece.
Fogarty's best of show winner was a billboard located outside the Shiner, Texas, home of Shiner Bock's Spoetzl Brewery. The sign welcomes visitors with the boast, "Where visiting Baptists become Methodists for the day."
The Addys panel handed out six special judges awards at the show. BRSG received a "Most Outrageous" prize for its invitation to an agency event; McCann-Erickson won for cinematography in three television spots shot for Texas Commerce Bank; and Conquest earned best art direction kudos for its "Enron corporate brand campaign" piece in the multimedia category involving regional or national executions for the consumer market.
Also earning judges awards were Lopez Negrete's television commercial for Fiesta Mart in the non-English category and a Shell Oil Co. TV spot by Ogilvy & Mather in the broadcast category.
The Houston competition drew 1,281 entries from 108 agencies, companies or individuals, according to event organizers.
