Think of it as the country's Ameriprise moment. This was the year when the baby boomers started crossing into their 60s—at a rate, according to the Census Bureau, of 7,918 per day, or about 330 per hour. Demography is destiny for a society, and the boomers are too numerous and too prosperous to be ignored. The boomers long have been notorious for their sense of entitlement. Think how insufferable they'll be in their Social Security years when they're actually entitled to entitlements. (And somebody's going to get rich marketing a line of computer games tailored for retired boomers.)
