BBC Worldwide has appointed Publicis Groupe’s Zenith Optimedia as its global media agency after a review, the client has confirmed.
 
The client spends approximately $50 million annually on measured media worldwide, according to sources. In the U.S., the U.K.-based media company spent $6 million on ads in 2007 and $3 million last year.
 
Others participating in the review included WPP Group’s Mediaedge:cia and Maxus. Incumbent PHD, a unit of Omnicom Group, withdrew from the pitch prior to the final round, per sources.
