Y&R Presents Roger Daltrey at Cannes

NEW YORK Legendary singer-songwriter Roger Daltrey, front man of The Who, will take the stage at the Palais des Festivals at the Cannes Lions Festival in June.

The Y&R-sponsored presentation from CEO Hamish McLennan will feature an interview with Daltrey (pictured) and music promoter Harvey Goldsmith. Goldsmith has worked with The Who, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and Sting, among others. He created Live Aid with Bob Geldof and produced the Prince's Trust Rock Galas as well as the first Teenage Cancer Trust event at Royal Albert Hall with The Who.

The two men will discuss their careers, the changes in the music business, building brands and how they've leveraged their art for philanthropic efforts, said the agency.

This marks Y&R's third year of high-profile interviews at Cannes. Last year, McLennan interviewed Rupert Murdoch and the year prior Al Gore.

The International Advertising Festival is taking place June 21 to June 27 in Cannes, France.
