SAN FRANCISCO The Washington State Department of Health has awarded its $7 million anti-smoking account to independent WongDoody after a three-month review, agency representatives said.

The Seattle shop won the two-year contract after a competition that included other undisclosed Washington agencies, sources said. Seattle’s Sedgwick Rd. previously handled the account, but it was unclear if the shop defended. The other contenders were undisclosed.

The campaign will try to convince people to prevent and reduce tobacco use, provide resources for quitting and educate teens about the dangers of smoking.
