Apparently the stereotype of women as avid shoe shoppers has some basis in reality. In a Mintel survey released this month, 64 percent of working women said they “rely on footwear to complete or change the look of their work clothes.”

And one pair of shoes in a workday may not suffice, particularly for the younger women. Forty-four percent of the survey’s 18-34-year-olds said they “wear one pair of shoes into the office, then change into something more stylish at work.”
