Conventional wisdom says the economy was riding for a fall because Americans were spending too freely. A Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll finds most people don’t buy it, though — at least, not as a description of themselves. The poll posed the question, “Would you say you and your family live above your means or within your means?” Just 8 percent of respondents confessed to living above their means, while nearly as many — 5 percent — volunteered that they live “below” their means.
