NEW YORK–Wendy’s International has shifted its $240 million account from Bates in New York to McCann-Erickson, a client representative confirmed.

The decision was made after the Dublin, Ohio-based client met with McCann, Grey and Publicis, all New York, according to sources. The loss of the account for Bates was expected [Adweek, July 22].

Bates Worldwide CEO David Hearn did not immediately return calls, nor did Gary Steele, who oversees the fast-food account. Sources said Steele and the account team that handles the business may move with the account.
