Vizio Scores Rose Bowl Sponsorship Deal

Consumer electronics maker Vizio has signed a four-year deal to be the presenting sponsor of college football's Rose Bowl Game and title sponsor of the 2014 BCS National Championship, the company has confirmed.

The deal was reached with the Tournament of Roses organization and ESPN, which has the rights to the games. It provides logo rights for Vizio product packaging and onsite integration for all Rose Bowl-related events. The Rose Bowl will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2014, the final year of the agreement.

"Sports fans, particularly football fans, are a critically important audience for our brand as it continues to grow and expand," said Randy Waynick, chief sales officer at Vizio. "Serving as presenting sponsor of the 'granddaddy of all Bowl Games' provides a rare opportunity to reach a captive audience on New Year's Day. It also provides tremendous marketing potential leading up to the game during the critical holiday buying season."

The bowl game will be formally titled the "Rose Bowl Game presented by Vizio," for the duration of the agreement. Meanwhile, the Vizio-sponsored national title game will be dubbed the "2014 Vizio BCS National Championship Game."

Vizio is currently the official HD sponsor of ESPN's SportsCenter and the network's coverage of regular season college football. The company will maintain those relationships throughout the term of the new agreement.
