Considering all the struggles of the auto industry in the past few years, you might expect motorists to view their own cars with disdain. But they don’t. In an AP-GfK poll released last month by GfK Roper Public Affairs & Media, few respondents who own or lease a vehicle said they’re less than satisfied with it (see the chart). Eighty-five percent would buy another car from the same company.

Elsewhere in the poll (fielded in March), 40 percent said they generally prefer to buy American cars, while 13 percent prefer to buy foreign.
