Tony Jarvis, the only research professional in an outdoor media company, has exited Clear Channel Outdoor.

As executive vp of global research since 2006, Jarvis was instrumental in working with the Traffic Audit Bureau to develop the methodology behind the industry’s first ratings, called Eyes-On. Last year, his contribution to the outdoor business earned him a spot on the Mediaweek 50 list.

Clear Channel, carrying about $18 billion in debt, has struggled to reign in costs in the recession.
