Another top exec at an Omnicom agency is leaving to join the National Basketball Association: Jamie Gallo, president of TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York, is exiting for a position at the NBA that could not immediately be determined.

In February, Brandon Snow, U.S. director of business development at DDB since August 2008, said he was returning to his former employer, the NBA, where he was named vp, global business development.

It’s not clear if a successor to Gallo has been determined at TBWA\C\D. An agency representative declined to comment.

Gallo, who has long-standing ties with global agency client Absolut, has been in the president’s role since February 2009, when he was promoted from his role as managing director at the New York office. In that job he worked closely with the agency’s chairman and chief creative officer, Mark Figliulo.

Gallo was named New York managing director in 2007 and joined TBWA\C\D from sister Omnicom shop Brand Architecture International in 2002. At BAI, he worked on the agency’s Pernod Ricard business.

Earlier in his career, he was involved with accounts like BMW Motorcycles and Fila at Omnicom’s Merkley + Partners. At Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG he handled clients like Evian and Dunkin’ Donuts.
