TBWA Advances Powers

NEW YORK TBWA has promoted Suzanne Powers to global strategy director on the agency's Mars account.
 
Powers has been executive director of strategy and business development at TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York since April 2006. Before that, she was co-planning director at the Playa del Rey, Calif., office of TBWA\C\D, where she first worked on Mars. She joined the Omnicom Group agency in 2000.
 
"This appointment reflects the tremendous contributions Suzanne has made to the Mars business around the world," said TBWA worldwide CEO Tom Carroll, in a statement. "Her understanding of how to help global brands strategically position themselves will prove invaluable as we expand her responsibilities across the network."
 
TBWA handles more than two-dozen Mars brands around the world, including Snickers, Skittles, Pedigree, Combos and Starburst in the U.S. In her new role, Powers will partner with Patrick Collins, worldwide managing director on Mars.
 
Earlier in her career, Powers held account-planning posts at Suissa Miller in Los Angeles and Collett Dickinson Pearce & Partners in London.
 
TBWA has yet to say who will assume Powers' New York duties.
