T-Mobile, WNBA Team For MVP Honor

Telecom company T-Mobile this week will enhance its relationship with the WNBA by becoming the presenting partner of the league's 2008 WNBA Most Valuable Player Award. 

T-Mobile will also be the presenting partner of WNBA MVP voting, which for the first time will enable fans to participate (at WNBA.com/mvpvote). Voting beings Aug. 28 and will continue through Sept. 15. The winner will be named during the WNBA playoffs. The online fan vote will comprise 25% of the total vote, while media votes will account for 75%.

Support will include tags on T-Mobile TV spots, Internet and a sweepstakes offering a trip to a 2008 WNBA finals game, WNBA merchandise and T-Mobile handsets and $100 prepaid T-Mobile service card.

T-Mobile, Bellevue, Wash., has been the official wireless telecom partner of the NBA and WNBA since 2005. It is the presenting partner of the NBA's rookie of the month and rookie of the year awards. Marketing includes a series of TV spots with Dwyane Wade and Charles Barkley, via Publicis, Seattle.

T-Mobile spent $500 million on media in 2007, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
