CHICAGO Marsh Supermarkets has named Meyer & Wallis its lead advertising agency for creative, account planning and media duties after an informal review.
"Meyer & Wallis has deep roots in retail," said Don Marsh, chairman and CEO of the Indianapolis-based chain, in a statement. "Marsh is poised for continued expansion and success, and we see our relationship with Meyer & Wallis as a key element in achieving our goals."
Marsh operates nearly 300 stores in Central Indiana and Western Ohio under a variety of different names, including Marsh, LoBill, O'Malia's and Village Pantry. Its account was previously with Ron Foth Advertising in Columbus, Ohio. Meyer & Wallis, based in Milwaukee, was a longtime agency of Meijer stores, before the Grand Rapids, Mich., company moved its account to DeVito Verdi in New York following a review.
Billings were not disclosed. Marsh spent just over $5 million on advertising last year, most of it for its Marsh brands, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
