The North Face, a high-end supplier of outdoor equipment and clothing, has launched a review for its $3-5 million advertising account, sources said.

The San Francisco-based client is looking for a small-to-midsized agency with a strong creative portfolio. California shops are the primary focus, but The North Face may consider agencies from other areas, according to sources.

The account was put in play several weeks ago, shortly before the company’s main roster shop, Blazing Paradigm, filed for bankruptcy.
