Stella Artois "Apartomatic"

Beer usually takes precedence over women and relationships with men in commercials -- and those cliches usually fall flat. But when Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola team up to direct an ad for Stella Artois, the result is bound to be more interesting. At least here we get stylish visuals and a cool soundtrack. Set in the 1960s, a young woman plays with "futuristic" gadgets in her date’s bachelor pad -- and is swallowed up by the sofa. Romeo returns from changing in the other room to see that she’s been replaced by a glass of Stella Artois. Thinking it’s the beer calling out his name -- rather than his date from inside the cushions -- he calls the beer “mon amour!” The ad ends with the tag, “She is a thing of beauty.” --Eleftheria Parpis
