Office supply chain Staples has tapped the direct marketing unit of Arnold Communications for an assignment.
Jeanne Lewis, senior vice president of marketing at Staples, confirmed that Arnold Direct in Boston was selected after a review that included “a bunch of different agencies,” which she declined to identify.
Hill, Holliday Direct and Ingalls One to One Marketing, both in Boston, also made presentations to the Westborough, Mass.-based client, sources said. Bronner Slosberg Humphrey, also in Boston, had early dialogues with Staples but was deemed to be too large, sources said.
Lewis declined to discuss the nature of the assignment.
