Slate, Condé Nast Are Biggest Winners at Digital Ellies

The Slate Group and Condé Nast came away as the big winners on Wednesday when the American Society of Magazine Editors handed out its digital National Magazine Awards.
 
The honors included the first given to a tablet magazine, which went to Esquire’s iPad app. Four online-only titles won awards, including Condé Nast’s food site Epicurious, which won two, for general excellence for service and lifestyle and for interactive tool. The other online-only winners were Life.com for photography, digital media; Slate for general excellence for news and opinion publications; and Tablet magazine for blogging.
