Sinclair, Fox Network Reach Agreement

Sinclair Broadcast Group, owner and operator of 20 Fox-affiliated TV stations, extended its affiliation agreement with the Fox Network through Dec. 31, 2012.

The current agreement was due to expire on March 31, 2012, and included KFXA-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, operated by Sinclair via an outsourcing deal and which had been on a month-to-month arrangement with Fox.

As part of the new agreement, Sinclair entered into an overall programming licensing agreement with Fox, allowing Sinclair to enter into retransmission consent agreements with distributors.

Meanwhile, a final retransmission deal between Sinclair and Time Warner Cable still remains unresolved.
