A Second Jumper From The Daily

It may be too early to call it a trend, but The Daily has already lost another staffer. Lauren Bans, a features reporter, is leaving for GQ, Adweek has learned. This came after Monday’s news that political reporter Jon Ward is jumping ship for The Huffington Post.
 
High turnover isn’t unusual at startup publications, but the defections are only the latest woe for Rupert Murdoch’s new tablet newspaper. The Daily’s February launch was followed by heavy complaints of crashes and poor user experience; in the wake of the complaints, the paper extended its two-week free trial period.
 
At GQ, Bans will be an associate editor for both online and print starting March 28.
