Team Detroit has expanded its management team with the addition of Monik Sanghvi, who assumes the role of chief digital and integration officer.
The title is new but the job covers many of the duties handled by Mark Russell as director of digital. Russell left the WPP Group shop in March to become president of sister shop Wunderman in Toronto and central region managing director of Blast Radius.
Previously, Sanghvi was svp of strategy and analytics at Publicis Groupe's Digitas in Detroit, where he worked primarily on General Motors. Ford is the top client at Team Detroit, which is based in Dearborn, Mich. Other clients include Shell, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Bosch and Compuware.
Sanghvi, 39, will lead a digital marketing group of more than 250. In addition to working with key clients, he'll contribute to new business development efforts, according to an agency representative.
"Digital communications is a big part of [our clients'] driving force, and Monik has an unmatched ability to connect the dots where needed," said George Rogers, the shop's president and CEO.
Team Detroit's management team also includes chief strategy officer Mike Bentley, chief creative officer Toby Barlow, managing director of communications Andy Prakken, and Brad Audet, managing director of Pulse, a group that focuses on non-Ford clients.
Sanghvi spent six years at Digitas. Before that, he was a director at AOL Media Networks in Southfield, Mich., and a group director of strategic services at Omnicom Group's Organic in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. He also has worked at McKinsey & Co.
Sanghvi started Monday and reports to Rogers.
