Digital advertising agency R/GA has opened its first Asian office in Singapore.
This is a follow-up to CEO Bob Greenberg's announcement of plans to expand in Asia this year, following the agency's win of the MasterCard global business in 2009 from McCann Worldgroup. The office will serve as R/GA's Asia-Pacific hub.
The Interpublic Group agency is currently in the process of building its staff and intends to grow its employee number to 15 in short order. The office is also looking to expand its mission in the region and win new business.
"Singapore is a hotbed for ingenuity and innovation. We're proud to be able to establish roots in a region that is quickly becoming an epicenter for great design. We look forward to broadening our international presence and welcoming Singapore design into our culture," said Greenberg (pictured), also chairman and global chief creative officer of R/GA.
The office will be located at the MacDonald House on Orchard Road. Other locations on Greenberg's wish list include Russia, China, India and the Middle East.
Headquartered in New York, R/GA has offices in London, San Francisco and Sao Paulo, Brazil. It was selected as AdweekMedia's Digital Agency of the Decade and Digital Agency of the Year for 2009.
