Spirits company Remy Cointreau USA has appointed Philippe Roederer svp of marketing.
Roederer has more than 20 years of marketing and sales experience in the beverage industry, per the company. Prior to joining Remy Cointreau, Roederer served as president of Voss America, overseeing operations in the U.S., Caribbean, Canada, and Central and South America.
Remy Cointreau USA is a subsidiary of Remy Cointreau, S.A., France, which imports and distributes premium and ultra premium spirits and wines. Its brand portfolio includes Remy Martin Cognac, Cointreau Liqueur, Macallan Scotch Whisky and Highland Park Scotch Whisky, among others.
The brand is a modest domestic advertiser. The U.S. unit spent $2.7 million in measured media last year, excluding online, per Nielsen. In 2008, the company spent $3.7 million on ads.
