Is the recession bad for teens’ health? A reduction in their consumption of fast food might prompt one to say “no.” In other respects, though, the answer seems to be “yes,” according to a Scarborough Kids Internet Panel report released last month, based on December/January polling of 13-17-year-olds.

Thirty-three percent said the economy has compelled them to eat out less often, with the reduction coming primarily at quick-serve eateries. But 20 percent have cut back on eating organic food; 11 percent have stopped or cut back on taking vitamins.
