What does produce have to do with Independence Day?

For Publix super markets, fruits and vegetables were part of the canvas for the grocery store chain to connect with one of its largest consumers groups in South Florida-shoppers who hail from the West Indies.

Among the print ads created by Matlock Advertising and Public Relations, Atlanta and appearing in Florida newspapers this month is an execution marking Independence Day for Trinidad and Tobago on Aug. 31. It features Carnival dancers with eyebrows make of brown rice and coifs rendered by an arrangement of Bok Choy, raspberries, white cherries and other fruits and vegetables.
